People were asking for pics from North Carolina. Got the blog back up, so I can finally show them.

First, here's our trip to the park near Duke University a month ago. None other than Frederick Brooks himself, the author of "The Mythical Man-Month", teaches at Duke University.

They think about disabled people everywhere here. But mostly, I just liked the pattern in the fence.

Duke is an old and badass uni

Every random bench was donated by someone and has their name on it.

There's a botanical garden near the uni, everything is very well-kept (seems to be done by volunteers too) and beautiful.

Looks like cabbage

Stone steps lead to an open gazebo covered in green foliage. Through the gazebo's opening, you can see an autumn park with bright colorful trees and silhouettes of people in the distance.

Looks like a banana tree, but it's not.

In the US there are signs with all kinds of info everywhere, mostly prohibiting things

Notice the one on the right — it says the park closes at dusk. Usually, everything closes at sunset. Dusk is when it's already completely dark and soon you won't be able to see a thing, while sunset is just when the sun dips below the horizon.
